this is going a little off-topic for OpenSG and into fairly general Unix
territory.
It might help if you could read some general introduction to dynamic libraries
(like
http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Program-Library-HOWTO/shared-libraries.html)
and see if that clears up some things.
