I have been referred to some VRML files that OpenSG 2.0 cannot load.
They can be found here:

As far as I can tell, these files use parts of VRML that are not
supported by the loader, and the parse errors cause the loader to bomb
out. I was given links to several other sites with VRML files
available for download that do not work with OpenSG, but I think the
above demonstrate a lot of what can go wrong.

I have not looked into this problem in detail yet, and I have to admit
that I do not know anything about the VRML loader in OpenSG. I have
not had trouble with the OpenSG VRML loader in the past, and I was
surprised by the poor handling of these files. It makes me wonder if
these files are tailored for a specific viewer or a specific purpose.

not very likely.

Are there known limitations to the VRML loader? Could it just be that
it needs to handle unsupported VRML features more gracefully?

there might be some bits and pieces not ported yet.

I stabilised the vrml loader a little bit so at least it should work
better. Currently it will warn if it encounters a node it can only
read but not map to OpenSG. It should at least work with what the loader
is able to map. The rest might be missing. If I find some time I will
bring it back to the 1.x feature list. If you need something urgently
supported let me know.

Wow, thanks for the quick response to this. I do not need anything urgently, but I think that the people who passed the problem report on to me will be impressed with the rapid work to address issues.
