It would also be a pretty difficult task. From what I understand the scene
structure inside the modelers is very different than a regular scene graph.
LODs
and Switches probably wouldn't transfer at all...

The VRML writer has not seen any attention in a long time, and it was never
very
complete to begin with, so I'm not surprised it loses stuff.
What is the end result you're going for? Maybe we can find another way to get
there.
