Hi Christoph,

the size of the cluster is not the problem: I tried with 8 PCs and with 1
server - same problem.

The debug output says

Then it stalls.

I plan to use a small Webserver Marcel wrote. It seems to work with that
one.

Cheers,

Subject: Re: [Opensg-users] Cluster starting slow

Hi Volker,

I have problems with the cluster connect on one server machine. So I have to
come back to this.
Currently, I start the server app per click from Windows Explorer, no Cygwin
script ..

The stall occurs after the client-server connect has happened (there should
be DEBUG outputs for this)?
What is the size of your cluster?

Cheers,
Christoph

Hello again,

it turned out to be a problem of how the render server is started. If
started with a Cygwin bash script, the described behavior occurs. If started
manually everything is fine and fast.

With OSG_LOG_LEVEL set to debug I still don't understand why this is
happening. The only output after the server starts is "NOTICE: No Shadows".

So, are there any Win7 OSG users out there running a cluster? How do You
start Your server?

Cheers,

Volker
