I am also encountering this problem. I am using the latest version of OpenShot (0.9.54 - downloaded from the new repo) on a Ubuntu 32bit 9.10 system (which I just did a clean install on - to see if my previous codecs/ffmpeg etc were the cause - they weren't). Some presets (eg AppleTV, YoutubeHD, Nokia) crash Openshot, but I cam successfully render a file with the Youtube (standard preset).
Can I run the program with a verbose mode or something to help narrow it down?? It would be great to have OpenShot fully functionial - I find that it has the perfect mix of features and usability - well done, and keep up the good work.
