All dependencies on the page are installed and current versions. No preview audio.
I see in the description for libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio "Simple DirectMedia Layer (with X11 and PulseAudio options)" -- is it possible that it is trying to use a PulseAudio option, even though PA isn't in the system?
