MLT natively already loads kdenlive files because they are simply an extension of MLT XML. To see what I mean, create one in kdenlive and then 'melt the.kdenlive' and it plays. So, all you need to do load a kdenlive file as a clip (not a project) is to not prevent it from being loaded. Same goes for Kino SMIL XML, which again, is already natively supported by MLT.
