With all the code bought in from the avnmerge I think it was decided to
make the next release 0.9.0

The file format has changed from opensim-<commit-short-code>.zip to
opensim-0.9.0-<sequence-number>-<commit-short-code>.zip
I am not sure why 0.9.0... has the dev master version changed from
0.8.3.0 to 0.9.0?

I don't like software that compiles with warnings.
Me too... folks did work to get the warnings down to just 4... it
would be nice to see them squished with the new code additions. 72 is
a lot.
