Yes, I discovered that too. I used L3DT to create a beautiful island terrain that covered 12 regions (4X3 grid) and wanted the land textured then turned to a megaregion. Found it worked ok when done region by region then combined. I achieved some really nice results once the whole island was converted to a single mega-region.
