I'd like to know if anyone is interested in the formation of a "Bot" (NPC) group, and if so whether to use LinkedIn Groups of Facebook Groups. The purpose of the group would be discussions on both client and server side bots in opensim-based products (e.g., opensim, aurora).
Unfortunately, very little seems to be documented on bots, the APIs, and how they are implemented although the occasional video pops ups showing the effects. The current basic version of opensim has bots as clouds at least in the 2.0 viewers, and it isn't clear if aurora has them fully working. Perhaps, the group can serve as a common area where users and developers can chat about what works and what doesn't, and more importantly, how to make things work with API documentation. The opensim environment would appear to be perfect for bot related development and research, so if there is an interest, post here and specify your choice (facebook or linkedin). From what I can tell, facebook group posts are either by email notification or nothing at all, whereas linked groups are digests (daily or weekly) but no individual emails. Of course, there is always Google/Yahoo groups... -p -- Paul Fishwick, PhD Florida Blue Key Distinguished Professor Director, Digital Arts and Sciences CISE Department, CSE 301 University of Florida Gainesville, FL 32611 Email: [email protected] Web: http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~fishwick Blog: http://www.representationz.com _______________________________________________ Opensim-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-users
