ODE is indeed the default. There has to be some from of physics engine present otherwise avatars won't be able to move at all, let alone anything else.

It should fall back to OpenDynamicsEngine by default if nothing is selected. =)

Bumped into something that i dont expect.
It seems opensim still use still some phyics engine if there's nothing selected
in the opensim.ini file
if you set in OpenSimDefaults.ini and OpenSim.ini the physics like this.

    ;physics = OpenDynamicsEngine
    ;physics = basicphysics
    ;physics = POS
    ;physics = modified_BulletX
    ;physics = BulletSim

i still can bump against objects and everything works. Only expect it makes
opensim a bit more unstable.
Because since i have enabled physics on my train sim. (yes it where complete
remarked by accident :O)
It seems more stable.

So what physics engine is opensim useing default if nothing is selected ?
it fall back to basicphyics ? Expected if nothing selected it dont use any at
all for prims ?
