Hi all,
I'm working on a master thesis, which will use OpenSLP.
I've read the documents on website.

But I still not quite clear that,
Does the registration file mean that,
1. user write down all the services that the SA can provide in the file, and

2. the SA can read this file when slpd is running (this file is in SA), and
then
3. if there is a DA in the scope, the SA can send the services to DA to
register.
4. finally, the DA collects all the services in SAs.

There is "Often it will be very useful for OpenSLP users to be able to
statically register legacy services (applications that were not compiled to
use the SLP library). " in document.

What does it mean that "applications that were not compiled to use the SLP
library", when I installed the OpenSLP, it can know the services in the
machine?

Thanks a lot for any response.

Best Regards
Patrick
p.s. I need to use some functions provided by OSLP, so I send my question to
this mailing list.
