Hi all,

I took over a suse linux enterprise server 9.3 which already runs some
years. Meanwhile the system is running out of free disk space on the /var
partition. One of the greatest files is slpd.log (216MB), so it should be
archived. Before I shutdown the slpd, I have some questions:

How do the registered services behave? Are they still reachable by clients
while downtime? In other words: Do the clients know the registered services?
One of them is xntp: can clients / other services synchronize or are there
any restrictions?

Tanks in advance,

Stephan
