Hi Swaminathan, I see what you are trying to do, you wish to provide a user name to the OpenSocial APIs can get back the user details.
Currently, the only way to get details for a user is to use the user id. The user id is retrieve from the Person.getId() function. Normally, in OpenSocial applications people (VIEWER or OWNER friends) are fetched on behalf of the user by the application. Could you share your scenario with us? We would be able to help you better once we understand your use case.
