True, it doesn't (at least that I see) provide any way for
applications in the same container to communicate beyond the user
profile information and data extensions.  But by providing a
standardized set of APIs for accessing container information, it goes
a long way towards making it possible for different container sites to
interoperate -- and for the same app to operate on multiple sites,
which opens up other integration possibilities.

That's what I'm most interested in.  But then I am looking at it as
someone interested in implementing a container as opposed to writing
an application.
