I want to use Dreamweaver to create an open social application that
uses a database backend. I will have to host the database server on
my server. Here are my questions:
Is it possible to use a program like Dreamweaver to create an open
social application?
Can I develop and test the application on my server first before
publicly publishing it (like a regular web application)?
How can I import the OpenSocial API for use in Dreamweaver? (Does
that even make sense?)

I really don't understand the OpenSocial architecture and the
tutorials online seem to skip over these details, but I basically want
to code the application to completion on my server in isolation, test
it and only then (if it works :-) make it available for all.
