James:
We haven't shipped ImageMagick on Solaris, Gimp is a image editor tool,
it contains many image processing operations and filter, and can be used
to create special effect image. eog is a simple image viewer, the
advantage of eog is the launch speed, so we associate most of image
format with it to ensure better user experience, but it lack of the
ability to organize the image.

gqview and gthumb are similar applications, I'll call them image
organizer. With these applications, user can easily organize and
management there images, they generally only have limited image
processing operation available. For my opinion, gqview offers better UI
than gthumb, but it really depends on users preference. I don't think we
are going to replace gthumb with gqview but keep them together to give
users more choices.

Thanks and Regards,
Chris
