Songbird is a desktop media player to mash-up with the web. It's built on top of Mozilla platform, and developed by a band of experienced, dedicated software developers and designers called the Pioneers of the Inevitable, some of them are from Winamp and the Yahoo! Music Engine[1]. It has the similar GUI layout with ITunes and provides an alternative for "Media Player + ipod + music store" solution. >> (cc'ing Nelson from NSS team for insight) >> >> Is 3.12 formally released yet? >> > > 3.12.0 was released for use in FF3 (more generally, Mozilla products) only. > It did not pass, or even undergo, Sun's rigorous QA, and as such > is not qualified for distribution in Solaris as part of /usr/lib/mps > (where official Solaris NSS libs go). > Songbird makes use of the NSS 3.12.0 in Mozilla tree currently. When NSS 3.12.x is shipped with Solaris, Songbird will be linked with the system one.
