along with magic.tab, which is extended to handle mime type/subtype
and file name matching (for dos style punting), is an ast magic(3)
interface, used by ast find and tw for "-magic pattern" and
"-mime type-pattern/subtype-pattern"
for instance
find /bin -mime '*/exe'
to weed out a.out's from other executables
