Hi,

There is some "secret" internal documentation / training. I'm the author of a lot of it. It's currently internal use only, but I should take a look at it again to see if I can easily salvage a releasable version. It was written primarily to be delivered as an instructor led class, but I wrote it in such a way that shouldn't be necessary. Ping me in a month to see where I am with it.

I was actually writing a book on this stuff, but it got sidelined by other work and commitments. I was never sure how large the target market was, particularly before the Solaris source was released.

Cheers,
Greg

That table for format 3 on 7-176 is the one I was referring to in
documentation quoted above - so I believe it should be 'rd' in the second one.

OK, I updated my notes to reflect that.

I'm studying UltraSPARC architecture, do Sun employees use some sort of "secret" internal documentation that is not available to the general public? I'm quite interested in processor architecture, cache memory organisation and instruction scheduling. Some of these topics are covered in SPARCv9, USII and USIII manuals, is there any other documentation which is not available from
Sun's website?
