Great to know that it can be done, (build ON with the "OpenSolaris 2008.05 Operating System" instead of using the "Solaris Express Community Edition" as is (was?) required to build ON). That might be why you had a bit of trouble with the dependencies and had to install some more software. Perhaps you can adapt your technique and try "Sun Studio 12" as well.
