Same story here, though I could say the same about early versions of
XFS for Linux. I can't recall a single case of data corruption that I
could blame on ext2/ext3.

I had ext3 blow up and wedge my SMP box several times in the earlier days of ext3; I got tired of the fsck's and worried about my data integrity. I had much better luck with resierfs; never had any problems.

So, base on our various experiences, you can't conclude anything about the relative stability of these filesytems, only that everyone has experienced some problems with each of them.

Yes, it would be nice to be able to read one or more linux filesystem formats, but it's not a deal breaker for me, nor for many other people either (IMO)--the kinds of people that run linux or solaris are the kinds of people that will have a spare box (or more) hanging around that they can bounce files off.
