And that's exactly what I meant when I said the GPL is vague on this
point. It's not at all clear what "accompanies the executable" means and
what would satisify the requirement and what would not. Nor does this
seem to be covered anywhere in the GPL FAQ.
I find it interesting that all three BSD's have been distributing gcc
for years, even though their libc's still have code with advertising
clauses in their licenses. Apparently noone at the FSF has noticed. ;-)
