In your original posting, you said that you had a "sparcstation".  Which
model (specifically) do you have, as only machines that use an ULtraSPARC-II
or newer process are supported.  The old, pre-Ultra SPARCstations are all
too old to support Solaris 10, so the latest version of Solaris 9 is the
latest and greatest you can use on them.

The easiest (and best) way to get GNOME is to get hold of the latest
version of SOlaris 9 (os S10 if your hardware is supported), as it is
included in the OS.  An alternative, if you want a more up to date
version of GNOME, is to get GNOME from www.blastwave.org.
