Ah, OK, that answers my previous question. Good news: the Ultra 5 is based on the UltraSPARC-IIi CPU, so is indeed supported by Solaris 10. > really understand the difference, would someone care to enlighten me? x64 is Sun Marketing's generic term for 64-bit computing on an x86 compatible processor. Which means AMD's Opteron and Athalon64 CPUs, and (I think) some of Intels latest x86 CPUs. However, it does NOT include Intel's ill-fated Itanic. SPARC is an open processor design.
