Howdy,

Is there anyway to add a few more "--enable-MODULENAME=shared" options to the current Solaris Apache build scripts? I think it would be useful to add PHP, mod_deflate, mod_security and mod_auth_ldap to the build. These are super useful modules, and would be useful for folks who can't afford the Sun One web server (which is a great product BTW). I am more than
willing to help with this request, just let me know what I need to do.

While this would be a good thing, you can use the Blastwave Apache if you require more options.

Hi Ian,

That is definitely an option for some sites, but having the modules bundled with the base OS provides a bit more peace of mind for some administrators (since existing Sun support contracts can be leveraged). It also allows folks to start using services without adding extra software packages (e.g., pkg-get). Hopefully Sun will consider doing this for the web folks in the opensolaris community. :)
