The other day I came across a mail about some features of opensolaris
being presented at a user group meeting, one I would have loved to go
but couldn't because I live... well too far ;).
So I came up with an idea: we could organize these kinds of
presentations virtualy once ot twice every month, gather some users
together, set up a virtual classroom and talk about common (and not so
common) problems and explain how we would solve them in opensolaris
followed by a Q&A. I thought that as virtual classroom we could use
the opensolaris irc channel or set up another one specific for these
meetings.
In time we could even get the users select topics for the next
meetings and log the sessions to poste them in the Articles project.
The topics can be very diverse, "opensolaris for linux users", "DTrace
for dummies", "setting up an LDAP server"... the sky is the limit
there
I know irc is rather limited when it comes to output but most of the
unix commands return text anyway and the idea is to keep the sessions
as informal as possible, like a chat during the coffee break with a
friend.

what do you guys think?
