Then the real inetersting question becomes, how do Windows applications like "DirectCD" and the like solve this problem, and what are the challenges involved with implementing packet writing UDFS support on Solaris? I've used the so-called packet writing SW under Windows(R) operating systems which used UDFS and it seemed to work just fine treating CD-RWs as R/W media. In fact, I use these CD-RWs under Solaris for burning OpenSolaris ISOs still, and I don't have any problems with the media.
