I use workstation... and have had wierd things with the
bridged network. Remember, you are piling a second IP onto
a single MAC address, so things like DHCP and ARPing are
sometimes broken. This can also cause problems with some
network switches that actually care about the traffic coming
through. :) I use the NAT config now with both static and
DHCP addresses with no problems.

Yes, the virtual NIC is bridged onto VMnet0, the default config.
