I don't see this really helping. There are a lot of systems on the Sun pricelist with less than 4G of RAM. There are a lot of older systems with less than 4G of RAM. I'm guessing that 1G is more typical for a current laptop/desktop/small server. The people with the 4G (and with the growth in software, how long before this trick requires 8G?) systems are going to be those who can drop a flash archive straight onto the machine, or have some other capable infrastructure to do the job properly. -- -Peter Tribble L.I.S., University of Hertfordshire - http://www.herts.ac.uk/ http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/ _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
