If the file system had features that can be tweaked for files, then those 
features should be exposed via an GUI; for example, if ZFS can 'compress' a 
file, then why not make it an option in the 'about this file' dialogue? or am 
have I crossed that sacred boundary of UNIX elitism to promoting the idea 
making a SUN product usable to the mere mortal?

Isn't that SUN's job of writing software for their operating system - or have 
I fallen off the Apple bandwagon, and expecting too much from a 
software/hardware vendor?
