Though, it's not as good as xpdf IMHO. Upstream, GNOME have a
revamped image/document viewer, 'evince', which is promising (though
still not quite up to xpdf standards iirc wrt PDF compatiblity).


Meh, not much of a fan of GNOME - it seems that its has the feeling that its just a whole heap of cobbled together applications from various sources rather than an integrated desktop experience, aka KDE.
