The problem I am "describing" (since I don't use Solaris for productive tasks,
I "do not have any problem") has nothing to do with GRUB, but appears to be
caused by the fact that Solaris, and most of the OpenSolaris derivatives,
apparently still use a stone-age disk partitioning routine.

Solaris may be the best OS the world is about to see, but unfortunately it
cannot avoid being limited by the presence of a weak link.
