We need to either pull OpenSolaris into the spotlight the same way as Linux
people do or we need to inform about the advantages of the CDDL and the
pitfalls of the GPL. In case Sun tries to be "just serious", OpenSolaris
may lose the same way as BSD loses against Linux. Not because of worse software
found in BSD but because of less publicity.

The freedom is a sensitive good. If you try to lock it up in order to save it,
it dies immediately.

Me too, and I still believe that the GPL was the right way to go
in the early 1990s. But for wow ,the world did change and the GPL is
neither the best solution anymore nor do I like to have endless discussions
with the GPL extremists.
