I'm finding that the Sun Download Manager is garbage, and I need to
circumvent it. The resume function only works *sometimes*, and the
downloads are not appearing where they're supposed to. In fact, I
cannot find the file I downloaded anywhere.

Wgetting the files directly from Suns site results in files with the
name
sol-10-u3-ga-sparc-v1-iso.zip?AuthParam=1169158433_9e8b6fa09f9cf337ea674a9abfcfcb5f&TUrl=an1npDpbKod7kSYrROhENTonIeQ2W0D1Lc4nXz+pGFFranixdCdgxDTPbW4=&TicketId=dll2OQRGMuE4%2Fw==&GroupName=SDLC&BHost=sdlc2g.sun.com&FilePath=%2FESD29%2Fsolaris-10%2Fs10u3%2F.

which is why you use the -O option of wget, just
wget sol-10-u3-ga-sparc-v1-iso.zip?Auth[ long crap] -O
sol-10-u3-ga-sparc-v1-iso.zip

also, sun kindly provides a nice download manager that can cope with
the download just fine
