If they were around, we probably wouldn't have all those dreadful (an
installer that requires over 700MB, a development IDE that added nothing
except several hundred megabytes to its predecessor...) Java GUIs to
contend with!
ya, CDE was simple and fast, I tried XFCE and it just doesn't cut it.
Every other GUI these days can't keep it simple, they just have to go
overboard.
