I need to find out some details, and I don't think I can do it by next week, but think it is more realistic to pull of for the April meeting. I looked at the pricing on their page and damn near fell out of my rocker...$7k/yr for 10 concurent clients. I heard Sun has 50 concurent clients, but need to verify that. One problem we have is that they pulled the wifi network out of the auditorium, and I need to see how we can get a drop from the DMZ upstairs. That's one missing piece, however it might be possible to use Elluminate Live through the proxy, that I don't know. If we can demonstrate this technology works, I think it would be fairly easy to make a case for Sun to purchase more licenses, should we need more. If it works we definitely would need more concurent clients, IMO, but the 50 is good to get started and to make sure it works for us. If we can get the software ironed out, it seems that we can then move the instructor from location to location and/or plan out better with the community. But the other cool thing is that the session can be recorded, and played back later. I see some real value in that as well, because we could archive the meetings and/or training. Especially since this will handle voice, it could elliminate the need for the polycom. -- Alan DuBoff - Solaris x86 Engineering - IHV/OEM Group Advocate of insourcing at Sun - hire people that care about our company! _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
