Hmm, haven't seen anything more recent on this thread, but I did want to point 
out that synchronizing to less than 1ms is pretty tough.  Lots of hardware just 
isn't up to that task.  And the more you ask the hardware to do, the lower the 
chances that it'll be able to keep the clocks this tightly sync'ed.

Moreover, NTP only works in terms of long-term sync, not instantaneous 
millisecond-to-millisecond terms.

If you need the latter, then NTP is not the protocol for you.  More information 
can be had through the mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED], which is an e-mail/news 
gateway for the newsgroup comp.protocols.time.ntp.
