Hey guys I'm looking forward to trying out Solaris and hopefully leave Windows.
I'm baffled on some of the information on this site. For instance, it's
mentioned a few times here: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/downloads/ that it's
a developer version? I only want to use Solaris as a desktop replacement for
Windows, not as a developer. As far as the best place to start I'm thinking the
best place would be here: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/starterkit/ Is
that the best documentation available? I bought Solaris 10 - The Complete
Reference but a few posters here said it wasn't worth the money. What should I
start with?

Also, how is OpenSolaris different to Solaris?

BeleniX looks like the ideal way for me to begin and with any luck they'll have
the hard disk version out by the time I've spent enough time with the LiveCD.

By the way what's 'Looking Glass'? Is it available on KDE or Xfce? Or can it
run on any environment?

Thanks guys.
