I think the problem is with the approach. Instead of saying "Make
Solaris Linux Like" it should have been, "Focus on User Experience." A
good user experience should be the focus, not to make one OS "just
like another." Honestly, if you make Solaris just like Linux, then it
becomes "yet another Linux distribution" essentially, and that is
rather pointless.
agreed completely and it might not actually fix the user experience
problems that were the real issues.
As I'm often fond of telling people on support aliases: "Tell me what
problem (usually a business/policy one) the customer is trying to solve,
not how they are trying to use a given tool and why they believe that
tool is broken".
