Hi Gueven,

It appears that you tried with qemu 0.8.2 as that is the version available
via apt-get. I got the same errors when I tried it. Next I tried downloading
qemu 0.9.0 source tarball and compiling it on Ubuntu Edgy. It worked for
me.

Qemu had a problem that was causing this. A patch was submitted by
Juergen Keil to fix that:

http://www.nabble.com/-PATCH--ATAPI-CDROM-DMA-support-is-incomplete-t3043057.html

That has made it's way into 0.9.0. It is quite strange that SXCE based on
the same build worked for you with 0.8.2!

Regards,
Moinak.

Hello, I just tried Belenix 0.6 on Qemu. I am using Ubuntu 7.04 as a host and Qemu has the version 0.8.2.

With and without the boot option "-B atapi-cd-dma-enabled=0" Belenix outputs
follwing lines:

"WARNING: /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/[EMAIL PROTECTED],1/[EMAIL PROTECTED] (ata1):
timeout: abort request , target=0 lun=0"
... above message repeated approx. 10 times with
variations in "timeout: reset bus, timeout: abort device ....

... then he aborts processing with the message:
May 23 05:28:35 svc:startd[7]: svc:/system/filesystem/root:default: Method
"/lib/svc/method/fs-root" failed with exit status 95.
May 23 05:28:35 svc.startd[7]: system/filesystem/root:default failed fatally:
transitioned to maitenance (see 'svcs -xv' for details)

... requesting the password for maintenance mode thereafter.

I have to note here that I installed and run SXCE 60 and SXCE 61 - and with these
"distros" I don't need the above mentioned boot option - successfully on my
Ubuntu host with Qemu. So a very little diff in the kernels of SXCE and Belenix have to
be the reason for this failure.

But thanks anyway for this distribution

regards
Gueven
