That is sweet.
Can we say that it is UNIX ? At the very least let's look at the
Single UNIX Spec and determine if we can say it is UNIX ?
GNU is not UNIX but OpenSolaris sure is.
Unfortunately we cannot say it is UNIX unless we officially brand it,
regardless of whether we conform to the spec (which we probably do, or
are really close).
Remember how Apple got in trouble a few years ago for just implying OS X
was UNIX. Of course, they recently branded OS X so watch for the UNIX
slogan to come back.

I dunno really ... I think that the real difference is that Linux is Linux
and UNIX is UNIX and maybe what OpenSolaris really is .. is UNIX.
If not the "real" difference, it is certainly one of the most
significant ones. Branding is not a small task and it is not cheap. I
think we should do it but the powers above need to realize that and make
it possible.
