Hi, It is probably best to describe what your system specifications are; what is your network card for instance - have you tried upgrading to the latest build to see whether its an issue relating to the network card driver.
My experience so far, Solaris has faster file transfer speeds both within the small 'network' I have at home, and retrieving things via the network at university.
