It talks about "necessary claims," which means that it's a limited patent grant. MS apparently has claims on some part of XPS, and as long as you follow the rules spelled out there, they won't "voluntarily" sue you. > patents. I'd assume that any project that has to dabble in IPR-encumbered work would be best advise to seek competent counsel -- and mailing lists don't count here.
