I *hate* making assumptions. Which is why I did ask these questions already, 
long before I made this post.

Just because the company was ruined by its management, doesn't automatically 
mean that the engineers working there were somehow incompetent.

And let me be quite honest: if IRIX were ever to be open sourced, OpenSolaris 
wouldn't stand a chance.

For all his slickness, OpenSolaris is like a Concord compared to a Stealth 
fighter as far as Solaris vs. IRIX comparison is concerned.
