This is very strange indeed. Did you perform a fresh install of b70a or did you do an upgrade from a previous version? If you did an upgrade I start to suspect the samba installation in b70a to be slightly different from previous builds. It doesn't advertise itself on the local network whereas my FreeBSD samba is visible as workgroup ZETTA.
