Yes; I do all of those things with my home system running Solaris Express. > My current setup have three NICs, two old Realtek 100Mbps and one > Atheros AR5215 based wireless. That all sounds like supported hardware to me, but check the HCL to make certain. > In the newer computer one of the Realtek NICs would be replaced with a Tigon3 > based one. CIFS/SMB should be no problem if you know how to use samba. The Tigon3 should work with the existing 'bge' driver, as that supports BCM5721. > What do you experts think, is this possible to do using OpenSolaris (without > too much experimental code)? It sounds quite doable. The one issue you may run into is the currently relatively-high memory requirement for the installer itself -- it needs 768MB to run. -- James Carlson, Solaris Networking <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sun Microsystems / 35 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
