Hi all,

I'm having problems installing SXDE 9/07 on a spare primary partition on
a new Aspire 5630. The installer gets as far as the initial "Configuring
/dev" and then hangs. All the devices on the laptop are supposed to be
supported, according to the Device Detection Tool, except the audio
device (see output below). The Indiana milestone Live CD boots fine, and
detects the hard drive, graphics device, etc etc.

Could the lack of audio support be preventing the installer from
starting properly? Is there an equivalent to Knoppix's failsafe boot
option that I could use to get it started?

In case it's important, the hard disk is split into 3 partitions: a 10G
recovery partition, a 50G Vista partition and a 50G "data" partition,
which is the target for the installation.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Chris
