Because of all the reasons that were listed before? >From Sun's standpoint; they've done all of the work necessary and GDM was very attractive I suspect from a library standpoint (GTK). Remember Sun has dumped millions of dollars into studies and accessibility related to GNOME, so I would expect them to logically choose GDM, just as Ubuntu has (at last check). I would rather see work done to reduce GDM's set of dependencies and use it given the amount of resources poured into it then attempt to duplicate all of the work that has been done to it using another display manager. -- Shawn Walker, Software and Systems Analyst http://binarycrusader.blogspot.com/ "We don't have enough parallel universes to allow all uses of all junction types--in the absence of quantum computing the combinatorics are not in our favor..." --Larry Wall _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
