Remember Sun has dumped millions of dollars into studies and
accessibility related to GNOME, so I would expect them to logically
choose GDM, just as Ubuntu has (at last check).

I would rather see work done to reduce GDM's set of dependencies and
use it given the amount of resources poured into it then attempt to
duplicate all of the work that has been done to it using another
display manager.
