Hi, Al followed up off-list and I did some more tests. It turned out that the NICs worked OK when the AOC-SAT2-MV8 card was unplugged. I plugged it back in with no drives connected and all was still well. I then added back the drives until I was able to establish that this problem was caused by a bad drive or drives or bad ports on the Mv8 card (ports 2 & 3). I have yet to do further testing to establish which of these is the actual problem. Bizarre that the NICs were taken out by a problem on a totally separate card on a different bus (the NICs are PCI-e, the card is PCI-X) but that's what I've found. Thanks to Al for his attention and suggestions. Now I can get on with setting up my server(s) rather than banging my head on hardware! Cheers, R. _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
